In the sub-Saharan Africa the farming industry is very popular. In order to help this farmers, new

ideas must be developed. This can be effectively done by connecting different farmers and

relaying information to them about crops. Green-Up Africa will set itself apart from others by

creating a platform that can be used by people within the farming sector.

Farmers have become by day tech survey, more that 88% of farmers in Kenya alone have access

to mobile phone. What this means is that the modes of communication have been improved, it’s

easier to for them to receive information right from their remote locations(cnn, 2014).

The majority of farmers in the Kenya are small subsistence farmers. Their poverty lines are

immense and most of the data they receive concerning farming methods and improved ways are

limited and the sources are unreliable. This gap is what needs to be bridged, the bridging is a

major step as farmers have fallen for many traps and money laundering schemes purporting to be

innovations, this therefore means a lot will go into gaining the farmers trust once again.

In the sub-Saharan Africa, farming is one of the most common activity performed. In this

process, some crops are over-produced due to lack of knowledge. In line with that, we came up

with the idea of educating and connecting the farmers via the use of technology. A survey was

carried out to see if it is actually possible for it to be done. A positive feedback is what we got

and now we can implement our idea to help them.
