Viva’s dictionary portal app (Woordeboekportaal) provides offline access to the following Afrikaans dictionaries:
• Afrikaanse Woordelys en Spelreëls (AWS; Pharos) (only the list of words, list of abbreviations, and the list containing geographical names and their derivatives)
• CTexT SkryfGoed: Leksikon (more than 450 000 Afrikaans words)
• CTexT SkryfGoed: Tesourus (search for synonyms and related words)
• CTexT TransTips: Leksikon (more than 20 000 Afrikaans words with English and Setswana translations)
• Kuberwoordeboek/Cyber Dictionary (Protea Boekhuis) (Afrikaans and English)
• Entrepreneurskapwoordeboek (an Afrikaans technical dictionary)
• VivA Gesegdes (more than 250 well-known Afrikaans idioms and expressions)
Characteristics:
• Spelling and writing tips
• Voice search (via Google Voice (Android only)) or keyboard search
• Predictive text (words appear as you type)
• Proposals (for incorrectly spelled words not found in dictionaries)
• Favourites (save words you look up often)
• Search history (page through the words you have searched before)
• Share results (i.e. on Facebook, Twitter or via Whatsapp)
